I got so many books this month that I made a vow not to buy or borrow any more books in August. But I have a feeling that vow will be broken quite soon. I also made a new button for my In My Mailbox post. What do you think? Like it? Well, I do. This month was crazy. Every time I went to the library with one of my friends, I told myself "I will not get any books today. I have so much on my TBR Pile already," and no sooner then after I said those words, I found a book that I like and could not bare to leave it. I even tried leaving my library card at home once, but that could not even stop me. I just used my friend card instead. Anyway these are the books I got this month.

What's in your mailbox?

Cover Discovery

Title: Outside In (Inside Out #2)
Author: Maria V. Snyder
Release Date: March 2011

Book Description:

N/A

My Thoughts: I love the cover to this book but as always the book covers I always find are part of series I have not read yet.

Title: Entice (Need #3)
Author: Carrie Jones
Release Date: December 7, 2010

Book Description:

Zara and Nick are soul mates, meant to be together forever. But that’s not quite how things have worked out. For starters, well, Nick is dead. Supposedly, he’s been taken to a mythic place for warriors known as Valhalla, so Zara and her friends might be able to get him back. But it’s taking time, and meanwhile a group of evil pixies is devastating Bedford, with more teens going missing every day. An all-out war seems imminent, and the good guys need all the warriors they can find. But how to get to Valhalla? And even if Zara and her friends discover the way, there’s that other small problem: Zara’s been pixie kissed. When she finds Nick, will he even want to go with her? Especially since she hasn’t just turned… She’s Astley’s queen.

My Thoughts: This series does sound quite good, but of course, I have not started this series yet. But I do like the cover. The cover matches with the rest of the books that belong in this series.

Title: Darkness Becomes Her
Author: Kelly Keaton
Release Date: February 22, 2011

Book Description:

Ari can’t help feeling lost and alone. With teal eyes and freakish silver hair that can’t be changed or destroyed, Ari has always stood out. And after growing up in foster care, she longs for some understanding of where she came from and who she is.

Her search for answers uncovers just one message from her long dead mother: Run. Ari can sense that someone, or something, is getting closer than they should. But it’s impossible to protect herself when she doesn’t know what she’s running from or why she is being pursued.
She knows only one thing: she must return to her birthplace of New 2, the lush rebuilt city of New Orleans. Upon arriving, she discovers that New 2 is very...different. Here, Ari is seemingly normal. But every creature she encounters, no matter how deadly or horrifying, is afraid of her.
Ari won’t stop until she knows why. But some truths are too haunting, too terrifying, to ever be revealed.

My Thoughts: This book sounds so good. I love the book description. This book is so on my TBR pile. By the way am I the only one who thinks this book sort of looks like the Beautiful Creatures book?

Waiting on Wednesday (7)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is The Thirteenth Chime by Emma Michaels. The Thirteenth Chime hit shelves August 13, 2010.

About~ No one knew of its existence until it was removed from the attic upstairs.

In a beautiful house that overlooks the sea, an antique clock has the power to change the course of their lives.

The power the clock resonates will not only force Destiny and ex-boyfriend David on a journey into the depths of one man's mind long dead, but into the mind of a man filled with hatred and bent on revenge.

With the only clues to the nature of the clock having disappeared into the sea, Destiny and David must retrace the steps the man had taken into the darkness, before they fall prey to the trap he had set in motion over half a century ago.

Hatred never dies.

My Thoughts~ Wow. This book sounds good, scary good. I love the cover. The eye looking like the clock is a good touch. As soon as this book comes out, I’m adding it to my TBR pile as soon as I get the chance. Btw, take a look at the book trailer. I love the trailer and the scary music.

(Sorry if the video size did not come out great.)

Teaser Tuesday: Infinite Days by Rebecca Maizel

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly bookish meme, hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading. Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

When I awoke, I immediately felt a cold surface on my left cheek. An icy shiver rushed down my spine. Even with my eyes closed, I knew I was naked, stomach down on a hardwood floor.

I gasped, though my throat was so dry I made an unearthly animal sound. Three heaving breaths, then a thump-thump, thump-thump--a heartbeat. My heartbeat? It could have been ten thousand fluttering wings. I tried to open my eyes, but with each blink there was a flash of blinding light. Then another. And another.

This week question: Tell us about the book you are currently reading!

My Answer: The book I am currently reading is My Soul to Keep by Rachel Vincent. Right now I am not sure how to explain it without giving spoilers since this is the 3rd book in the series. But I am going to try. This book is about a girl named Kaylee, and well, let's just say she and good luck so does not get along. And well that's the most I can say without giving anything away.

I Created a Blog Button for Eternal Night!!!!

<center><a href=" http://eternalnight06.blogspot.com/">
<img src=" http://i900.photobucket.com/albums/ac210/EternalNight06/Eternal%20Night/EternalNight06Final.jpg"/></a></center>

I have finally created my very own blog button. Of course I could not do it without the help of some fellow bloggers like Eleni from /- LA FEMME READERS -/ and Sara from Along for the Ride. Thank you so much for helping me. I have been trying to learn how to make a blog button for a while and I have finally figured out how thanks to both of your help. And I hope all of you like my Blog Button. What do you think?? I would love to hear your thoughts.

Waiting on Wednesday (6)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is Bad Taste in Boys by Carrie Harris. Bad Taste in Boys hit shelves July 12, 2011.

About~ Someone’s been a very bad zombie.

Super-smartie Kate Grable gets to play doctor, helping out her high school football team. Not only will the experience look good on her college apps, she gets to be thisclose to her quarterback crush, Aaron. Then something disturbing happens. Kate finds out that the coach has given the team steroids. Except . . . the vials she finds don’t exactly contain steroids. Whatever’s in them is turning hot gridiron hunks into mindless, flesh-eating . . . zombies.

Unless she finds an antidote, no one is safe. Not Aaron, not Kate’s brother, not her best friend . . . not even Kate . . .

It’s scary. It’s twisted. It’s sick. It’s high school.

(Description from Goodreads)

My Thoughts~ This book sounds so good. I think the cover is very interesting too. I have never heard of a plot like this before so I guess that’s why this book might appeal to me. Other then that, I have only read one other type of zombie novel out there and well, it would be to read more things about zombies. Like I said, I can’t wait to read this book.

Review: My Soul to Save by Rachel Vincent

About~ “If she were going to die, I’d already be screaming. I’m a Banshee. That’s what we do.”

When Kaylee Cavanaugh screams, someone dies.

So when teen pop star Eden croaks onstage and Kaylee doesn’t wail, she knows something is dead wrong. She can’t cry for someone who has no soul.

The last thing Kaylee needs right now is to be skipping school, breaking her dad’s ironclad curfew and putting her too-hot-to-be-real boyfriend’s loyalty to the test. But starry-eyed teens are trading their souls: a flickering lifetime of fame and fortune in exchange for eternity in the Netherworld—a consequence they can’t possibly understand.

Kaylee can’t let that happen, even if trying to save their souls means putting her own at risk…

Soul Screamers
The last thing you hear before you die.

My Review~ My Soul to Save, is way better then the last book My Soul to Take. This book has so much action; I was sitting on edge of my seat.

I adore Kaylee’s personality. She knows when to stand her ground and yet even though she might be afraid, she still somehow manages to almost get everything she wants. And, well, Nash is just sweet, loving, loyal, caring, kind, HOT…I could continue but I think you get the point. I wish I had a boyfriend like Nash. And Tod is just, as always, his funny self.

The plot of the story was quite different then what I thought it might be though. I thought the people with no souls were going to be too many too count, but it was surprisingly only a few number of people (At least that I know and remember of). But still, this is my favorite book in this series as of yet. This may not be much of a review, but, oh well. I recommend you put this book on your TBR pile FAST!!! And if you haven’t started this series you have no idea what you’re missing. I am going to start the 3rd book, My Soul to Keep, pronto and so should you.

He pulled me onto his lap and I crossed my ankles at his back, holding us tightly together while his lips moved over my neck. I could feel what he wanted through both layers of denim separating us, and my head swam with the knowledge that he was excited by me.
