Waiting on Wednesday: Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer. Wolfsbane by Andrea Cremer hits shelves July 26, 2011.

About- This thrilling sequel to the much-talked-about Nightshade begins just where it ended-Calla Tor wakes up in the lair of the Searchers, her sworn enemy, and she's certain her days are numbered. But then the Searchers make her an offer-one that gives her the chance to destroy her former masters and save the pack-and the man-she left behind. Is Ren worth the price of her freedom? And will Shay stand by her side no matter what? Now in control of her own destiny, Calla must decide which battles are worth fighting and how many trials true love can endure and still survive.

My Thoughts- I read the first book to this series and I just fell in love right away. And now I just can't wait to read what happens next. Nightshade, the first book, left such a big cliffhanger. I am just dying to read this book, but the release date just seems to be so far away. And the cover is nice too, but I don't think it matches the first book to the series cover though. I would love to year what you are waiting for. Tell me in the comments. Happy Reading!!!

This week's pick is Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton. Blood Magic by Tessa Gratton hits shelves April 26, 2011.

About~ The murder of her parents has left Silla damaged and lost, and Silla's insistence that her father is not to blame only alienates her further from her friends and family. When a mysterious spell book arrives, Silla hopes it will lead to some answers about her parents' killer. In her first attempt at magic, in an old graveyard near her home, Nick, the new boy in town spies on her; he recognizes the magic that Silla is performing as the same magic his mother performed with him, before she went mad. Before long, Silla and Nick connect, though Nick is unwilling to share his history with blood magic with Silla. When Silla's friends start showing signs of possession, Silla, Nick and Silla's brother, Reese, must contend with a deadly, immortal woman who will stop at nothing to take the book of spells from them.

My Thoughts~ I have yet to read a book about witches and such. But I guess thats why I am drawn to this book. I feel like it's time to step up on the paranormal book chain. Witches here I come...Btw, I just love the cover...

Waiting on Wednesday (13)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is The Lying Game by Sara Shepard. The Lying Game hits shelves December 1st 2010.

About~ New York Times bestselling author Sara Shepard’s new series weaves a mystery of long-lost twins, mistaken identities, a duplicitous circle of friends, and cold-blooded murder. Combining juicy plot lines, to-die-for lifestyles, a tangled web of friendship and romance, magnetic characters, and sharp-witted narration from the afterlife, The Lying Game is an alluring cross between Pretty Little Liars and The Lovely Bones.

Foster kid Emma Paxton has only just discovered Sutton Mercer, the wealthy twin sister she never knew she had, when Sutton drops off the face of the earth, asking Emma to cover for her at home, school, and with her friends—just for a few days. At first Emma enjoys trying on her sister’s fabulous life: her fiercely loyal friends, her adoring boyfriend, her close-knit family. But as Emma is drawn deeper into Sutton’s world she finds the friends are not so fabulous, the boyfriend is not who she wants to be with, and the family is clinging to long-buried secrets and a veneer of functionality. And worst of all, Sutton may not be coming back. In fact, someone may have made sure she never could…and that someone knows Emma is not who she claims to be. Emma will need all her wits to survive The Lying Game.

My Thoughts~ I have not read Sara Shepard’s Pretty Little Liars books yet but I do know that any book that comes from Sara Shepard is bound to be good. The cover also looks great and I can’t wait for this book to be released.

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is Born at Midnight by C. C. Hunter. Born at Midnight hits shelves March 29, 2011.

About~ Kylie Galen has had a lot of crap tossed in her lap. Her parents are getting a divorce. Her boyfriend broke up with her because she wouldn’t put out. Her grandmother died and now Kylie’s acquired a stalker. Unfortunately, she’s the only one who seems to be able to see the stalker. And that gets her sent to a psychologist’s sofa.

The kooky psychologist gets Kylie sent to Shadow Falls Camp. Kylie and her parents think it’s a camp for troubled teens.

They thought wrong.

It’s a camp of supernaturals: vampires, werewolves, fairies, witches and shape shifters. And if she believes the camp leader, Kylie is one of them, too.

Just because she’s seeing ghosts, just because she was born at midnight, does that really mean she’s not human? And if so, what is she? Not even the other supernaturals can tell her.

As Kylie attempts to cope with the realization that these creatures actually exist, and that she might even be one of them, the ever present stalker/ghost appears to have secrets that could unravel the mystery of Kylie’s identity and her destiny.

But getting a ghost to open up is as hard as getting a guy to talk about his feelings.

As Kylie struggles to find answers, two hot guys, a werewolf and a half-fairy vie for her attention. However, Kylie’s determined that before she lets her heart discover a new love, she needs to solve her indentify crisis and unearth the truth of her destiny.

My Thoughts~ Wow. This book sounds breathtaking. I love almost everything about it. The cover is wonderful, the plot sounds unbelievable, but the only thing that is making this book be almost perfect, instead of just perfect, is the release date. If this book would release sooner, it would have been so much better.

And she is intent on turning them into vampires so they can live together—forever.

My Thoughts~ This book sounds so good. I am a big fan of The Vampire Diaries and I would get this book in a heart beat. I love the cover but I would love it even more if Stefan had a little bit of blood on his lip like the first Vampire Diaries cover has.

This week's pick is Ripple by Mandy Hubbard. Ripple hits shelves August 2011.

About~ Eighteen years old Lexi is cursed--by day, she's just like every other teen at Lincoln City High. But from dusk until dawn, she's forced to swim and sing, a modern day siren. Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.

This week's pick is The Gathering by Kelly Armstrong. The Gathering hit shelves April 12, 2011.

About~ Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students—for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.

Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya's determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya's home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts getting negative vibes from certain people and things. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret—and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.

(Description from Goodreads)

My Thoughts~ At first, when I read the beginning of what this book is about, I was a bit board. But then when it came close to the end in the description, I saw how the story might make sense. This book does sound quite good. I wish it was going to be released sooner…

About~ Riley Bloom left her sister, Ever, in the world of the living and crossed the bridge into the afterlife—a place called Here, where time is always Now. Riley and her dog, Buttercup, have been reunited with her parents and are just settling into a nice, relaxing death when she's summoned before The Council. They let her in on a secret—the afterlife isn't just an eternity of leisure; Riley has to work. She's been assigned a job, Soul Catcher, and a teacher, Bodhi, a curious boy she can't quite figure out.

Riley, Bodhi, and Buttercup return to earth for her first assignment, a Radiant Boy who's been haunting a castle in England for centuries. Many Soul Catchers have tried to get him to cross the bridge and failed. But he's never met Riley...
(Description from Goodreads)

My Thoughts~ Since I love The Immortals series, I thought I would give this book a try. And it would be quite interesting to read from Riley’s point of view instead of Ever’s. Who knows, maybe we will get to see Ever in the book in some scene’s that had happen in The Immortals series. This book is sooo going on my TBR pile. Also check out the book trailer.

This week's pick is The Thirteenth Chime by Emma Michaels. The Thirteenth Chime hit shelves August 13, 2010.

About~ No one knew of its existence until it was removed from the attic upstairs.

In a beautiful house that overlooks the sea, an antique clock has the power to change the course of their lives.

The power the clock resonates will not only force Destiny and ex-boyfriend David on a journey into the depths of one man's mind long dead, but into the mind of a man filled with hatred and bent on revenge.

Hatred never dies.

My Thoughts~ Wow. This book sounds good, scary good. I love the cover. The eye looking like the clock is a good touch. As soon as this book comes out, I’m adding it to my TBR pile as soon as I get the chance. Btw, take a look at the book trailer. I love the trailer and the scary music.

It’s scary. It’s twisted. It’s sick. It’s high school.

(Description from Goodreads)

My Thoughts~ This book sounds so good. I think the cover is very interesting too. I have never heard of a plot like this before so I guess that’s why this book might appeal to me. Other then that, I have only read one other type of zombie novel out there and well, it would be to read more things about zombies. Like I said, I can’t wait to read this book.
