Waiting on Wednesday (9)
Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine.
This week's pick is The Gathering by Kelly Armstrong. The Gathering hit shelves April 12, 2011.
About~ Maya lives in a small medical-research town on Vancouver Island. How small? You can’t find it on the map. It has less than two-hundred people, and her school has only sixty-eight students—for every grade from kindergarten to twelve.
Now, strange things are happening in this claustrophobic town, and Maya's determined to get to the bottom of them. First, the captain of the swim team drowns mysteriously in the middle of a calm lake. A year later, mountain lions start appearing around Maya's home, and they won’t go away. Her best friend, Daniel, starts getting negative vibes from certain people and things. It doesn't help that the new bad boy in town, Rafe, has a dangerous secret—and he's interested in one special part of Maya's anatomy: Her paw-print birthmark.

My Thoughts~ At first, when I read the beginning of what this book is about, I was a bit board. But then when it came close to the end in the description, I saw how the story might make sense. This book does sound quite good. I wish it was going to be released sooner…

Hmm, that one does sound like it'll be interesting. I haven't read much of Kelley Armstrong's stuff before, though I like what little I did read and I hear awesome things about her other books. And quite frankly, any book that actively takes place in tiny little places in Canada interest me for personal reasons, since Canada often gets shafted for just about everything and I like to see it take the spotlight every once in a while. :)
ReplyDeletesuch a pretty cover
